Here is a great option to add into your diet. Chondrus crispus—commonly called Irish moss or carrageen moss—is a species of red algae. It has great benefits such as aiding in digestion, relieves sore throat, prevents lung problems, strengthens bones, is a male aphrodisiac, reduces cholesterol and blood pressure, prevents varicose vein rashes and assists in loosing weight to name a few. Its loaded with 96 minerals from the sea that helps promote a clean and healthy body. Sea moss helps rid the body of mucus that can cause ailments such as colds and flu. Sea Moss very low in Saturated Fat and Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin K, Calcium and Copper, and a very good source of Riboflavin, Folate, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Zinc, and Manganese.
The process to make sea moss varies from user to user however when its made it should be gel consistency. The Sea Moss needs to remain refrigerated. Once opened it has a shelf life of 1 month or less.
Take 1 to 2 teaspoons per day. You can add to smoothies, shakes, tea and food if you like. Refrain from using sugars, use natural sweeteners instead.
Ingredients: 1/2lb of raw dried sea moss (make sure its from a reputable seller), 1 colander, Spring or Alkaline water, A Bowl, A Blender, Air Tight containers (glass or Ball jars will work for this)
Directions: Place seam moss in the colander rinse with cold water (this removes the salt). Place sea moss in a bowl and add water to it. Soak overnight or 4 hours. Pick sea moss out of the water and place back in the colander. Empty this water out (If you are not a fan of throwing away water place it in a spay bottle with a few drops of your favorite essential oil and you have a face spray). Place sea moss back into the bowl and fill with water. Let sit for 4 hours or overnight again. Pull moss out of the water and place in a blender. Add spring or alkaline water a little at a time and blend. Continue this process until your sea moss reaches gel form.
NOTE: THE RINSING AND SOAKING OF THE MOSS REMOVES THE SALT THAT IS NOT NEEDED TO BE CONSUMED. FEEL FREE TO MAKE A TONIC WITH THE LEFT OVER WATER OR ADD THEM TO YOUR PLANTS.
