Oily Skin Toner and Regimen

We all know that if you have oily skin, you are bound to have less wrinkles due to the high oil production. As great as that sounds no one wants their face to look greasy. What are things that cause oily skin and how can we fix them?

Oily skin is characterized by overactive sebaceous glands. These glands send oil or sebum up to your skin's surface making your skin in turn oily. Factors that can affect oily skin are, improper skin products (ex. using acne product and not having acne.) improper cosmetics (using matte foundations) and in some cases it can be hormonal. The treatment for oily skin is to feed it properly. Here is your regimen.

Ingredients: 1 PET spray bottle, 4oz of spring/distilled water, 3oz witch hazel, 1oz grapeseed or jojoba oil, 1 stalk of lemongrass, a blend of 3(3-2-1 drops each ) or 2 drops of each; basil, clary sage, chamomile, cypress, geranium, lavender, frankincense, lemongrass, ylang ylang, tea tree and juniper essential oils.

Directions: Cut and soak lemongrass in spring/distilled water overnight. Add water, witch hazel and oil in a bottle and shake well. Add essential oils and fold in. Start out by cleansing your skin with black soap and pat dry. Mist your toner across your skin. apply a small amount of grapeseed or jojoba oil by pressing into the skin. Repeat twice a day.

Tip: You may use a clay mask at night on your mask days. Bentonite, kaolin and red clay will work best for oily skin.
