Feel Good Smoothie

We all know that getting in better eating habits can be challenging, especially around holidays when you want to feast and eat unhealthy. This weeks recipe will focus on keeping your digestive system pure and clean. It is great to keep a detox in your body even when you're eating poorly. Drinking a small amount per day can keep the harmful things that are eaten to move down the intestines quicker. This is a very easy recipe and does not necessarily require a juicer.

Sea Moss commonly referred to as Irish Moss is a powerful superfood. Derived from the ocean it has powerful anti-inflammatory effects. This red algae is packed with Protein, Fiber, Selenium, Iodine, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, Phosphorus, and Zinc. Sea moss is best for digestion making it perfect for this recipe.

Plum is a great source for digestion and detox. It contains micronutrients, including a good amount of vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin A and potassium. Plums are very high in fiber making this the perfect ingredient for detoxing.

Lemons are one of the best fruits for detoxing. Lemons help aid digestion, reduce inflammation, and cleanse the system, they are loaded in vitamin C which helps the body cleanse harmful chemicals.

Coconut Water helps to boost immunity in the body. It improves digestion and assists with weight loss.

Ingredients: 2 cups of dried plums or 10 plums, 16oz coconut water, 3 lemons, 1 teaspoon of sea moss, 1 blender.

Instructions: If using fresh plums: peel and remove pit, then add to the blender. If using dried plums dried plums add plums coconut water and sea moss in the blender. Cut lemons in half and squeeze juice into the blender. Blend until everything is smooth. place in air tight containers.

Tips: You can take 1 teaspoon of sea moss per day to keep the digestive system going and it helps to fight mucus in the body. Coconut water can be drank by itself to prevent dehydration. Lemon water helps to fight toxins in the body as well as burn fat in the stomach. Plums can be eaten once a day to promote digestive health for successful bowel movements.
